ZERO E-WASTE-INAUGURATION OF E-WASTE MANAGEMENT 

The event commenced with a welcoming address that set the tone for the college's environmental responsibility. The Principal, Prof. M.N. Mohammed Koya, highlighted the importance of integrating such facilities into the campus ecosystem to ensure responsible disposal of electronic waste. The Principal formally inaugurated the unit, emphasizing its role in achieving a 'Zero E-Waste' campus and fostering a culture of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle among the students and staff.The felicitation were addressed by Vice principal Dr.Baiju MK,Academic Cordinatinator Mrs.Sushama K, and HoD Mrs.Subi

A detailed presentation was given by Muhammed Shibin AM on the unit's operating procedures, including the use of e-waste recycling containers scattered over campus for the collection of batteries and old devices, and the proper disposal of non-biodegradable waste. The inauguration was well-attended and ended with a commitment to making the campus a leader in green initiatives.

The inauguration successfully achieved the following objectives:

  • Environmental Compliance: Established a dedicated facility to comply with environmental legislation regarding e-waste disposal.
  • Awareness and Engagement: Raised awareness among the campus community about the serious impacts of improper e-waste disposal and encouraged active participation in recycling efforts.
  • Resource Management: Implemented a practical mechanism to reduce waste generation at the source, contributing to the college's waste minimization strategies.
  • Sustainability Goal: Took a definitive step toward making the campus free of excessive pollution and promoting the efficient use of resources.
