Friday, November 14, 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit 240 of Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam, organized a "Walkathon Event" to observe World Diabetes Day, in collaboration with Orchid Hospital, Changaramkulam. The event was designed to raise awareness about health and the importance of physical activity in managing and preventing diabetes. Spanning a distance of 5 kilometers, the walkathon commenced at 8:00 AM and concluded at 9:00 AM, drawing participation from students and volunteers dedicated to the cause.

The route for the event began at the Changaramkulam Town Busway and proceeded towards Valayamkulam. By engaging the community in this early morning physical activity, the organizers aimed to highlight the significance of a healthy lifestyle. The joint initiative by NSS Unit 240 and Orchid Hospital successfully brought attention to the global message of World Diabetes Day, fostering a spirit of wellness and collective responsibility among the participants.
