Awareness Class on Women’s Legal Rights Held at Assabah College in connection with International Women’s Day, the Women Development Cell (WDC) of Assabah Arts and Science College organized a legal awareness class for female students. The aim of the programme was to create awareness about women’s rights and the legal protections available for them.
The event was held at the college auditorium and was inaugurated by Captain Prof. Muhammed Koya. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of women being aware of their rights in modern society.
The main session was led by Adv. Shaheera, an advocate at the Ponnani Municipal Court. She explained the special protections provided to women under the Indian Constitution and various laws, and also discussed how women can seek legal help in cases of harassment or violence.
The programme began with a welcome address by WDC Convener Shajitha V., and concluded with a vote of thanks by WDC student representative Mubashira. Teachers and hundreds of female students from the college attended the event.
