Valayamkulam, June 26, 2025: In connection with World Anti-Drug Day, and in wholehearted support of the Kerala Government’s visionary campaign – “Green is Drug-Free”, the NSS 240 Unit of Assabah Arts & Science College organized an inspiring initiative titled “With Nature in This Rainy Season”. The event featured a Monsoon Village Walk and leaflet distribution campaign, aimed at promoting awareness about the significance of living a drug-free life through an intimate connection with nature.

The program was conducted in the scenic surroundings of the local village areas near the college, using the monsoon landscape as a metaphor for rejuvenation and purity—mirroring the ideals of a life free from substance abuse. NSS Program Officer Abdul Rahman P. led the walk, accompanied by a dedicated group of NSS volunteers, who actively engaged with local residents and students during the initiative.

Participants distributed thoughtfully prepared awareness leaflets carrying anti-drug messages, inspirational quotes, and practical guidance on avoiding harmful substances. The leaflets emphasized how reconnecting with the natural world can offer peace, clarity, and strength—qualities essential for resisting addiction and leading a healthy, meaningful life.

The primary objective of the walk was to promote a drug-free society by encouraging a lifestyle rooted in nature and holistic well-being. The activity served as a creative and peaceful protest against drug abuse, highlighting the therapeutic power of nature in fostering mental resilience and clarity among the youth.

The initiative offered a rare blend of environmental awareness and social activism, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the beauty of the monsoon season while advocating for a critical social cause.
