The Assabah Election Literacy Club in association with the NSS Unit No. 240 organized a Voter Awareness Programme on 08 August 2025 at Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam. The main objective of the program was to create awareness among students about the importance of voting and to encourage newly eligible voters to actively participate in the democratic process. The session began with a welcome address by NSS Programme Officer, who emphasized the constitutional right and duty of every citizen to vote. It was followed by an informative talk on the importance of electoral participation, the procedure for voter registration, and the significance of including one’s name in the electoral roll. The resource person highlighted that every student who has completed 18 years of age should ensure that their name is correctly entered in the voter list for the upcoming elections. The session also included an interactive segment where students raised their doubts regarding voter ID registration, correction of details, and the voting process. The resource person provided clear explanations and encouraged students to act as ambassadors of democracy by spreading awareness among their peers and community. In his concluding remarks, the Principal appreciated the joint efforts of the Election Literacy Club and the NSS Unit in promoting democratic values among the youth. He reminded students that every single vote contributes to the strength and success of Indian democracy. The programme successfully inspired students to recognize their role as responsible citizens and to actively participate in the electoral process.
