SEMINAR CYBER SMART CAMPUS

The Department of Computer Application, in collaboration with the Cyber Club, organized a session titled “Cyber Smart Campus” aimed at educating students on essential aspects of cyber safety and digital responsibility. The programme focused on nurturing a secure digital environment within the campus by raising awareness about potential cyber risks faced by students in their daily online interactions.

Objectives of the Programme

  • To promote a cyber-safe campus environment.
  • To create awareness about cybercrime, its forms, and prevention methods.
  • To educate students on cyber threats, including phishing, data theft, malware, and identity fraud.
  • To encourage responsible digital behaviour and ethical use of technology.
  • To provide foundational knowledge of cybersecurity to help students safeguard their personal data.

Programme Highlights

The session was led by BCA 4th semester students, Mifzal and Raazi, who presented various aspects of cyber safety through interactive explanations and real-life examples. Key topics discussed included:

  • Safe internet practices
  • Password hygiene and secure authentication
  • Social media safety
  • Identifying online fraud and scams
  • Awareness on digital footprints
  • Basics of cyber laws and student responsibilities

The programme emphasized the increasing need for cybersecurity awareness among youth, given the rapid digital transformation in education and daily life.

 

Outcome

The Cyber Smart Campus programme proved to be highly beneficial and informative. Students gained:
