QUIZ COMPETITION WORLD HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI DAY 

On 7th August 2025, a quiz competition was organized by the Department of Chemistry at Assabah arts & Science College on the behalf of Nagasaki Day. The event was designed to raise awareness among students about the historical significance of Nagasaki Day, while also encouraging academic engagement and knowledge sharing.

The quiz competition was held in the college conference hall, beginning at 11.30am and extending beyond its scheduled duration due to the high level of enthusiasm and participation from the students. The event was attended by students from various departments, showcasing a diverse range of knowledge and interests.

The competition was conducted under the expert guidance of Sasidharan T A., Head & Associate professor, Department of chemistry, Ms. Adheena V G, faculty of chemistry, and Ms. Raheena Latheef, faculty of chemistry, who provided valuable insights and guidelines to the participants. Their expertise and encouragement helped ensure the quiz was both educational and engaging. The quiz questions were meticulously prepared to cover a wide range of topics related to Nagasaki Day, ensuring that students were challenged and motivated to learn more about this significant historical event.

Students from multiple departments participated in the quiz, making it a lively and competitive event. The questions ranged from the historical background of Nagasaki Day to scientific and ethical discussions related to nuclear energy and its implications. The competition not only tested the students’ knowledge but also fostered a spirit of teamwork and intellectual curiosity.

 After a highly competitive session, the winners were announced, and the  cash prize distribution ceremony took place on 29th August 2025. The  cash prizes were distributed by M.N. Mohamed Koya, the Principal of Assabah Arts and Science College, Valayamkulam and he congratulated the participants and winners, emphasizing the importance of understanding history and its lessons for future generations.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Sasidharan T A , Head & assistant professor, department of Chemistry, acknowledging the efforts of the faculty, participants, and attendees. The quiz competition was a resounding success, providing an informative and engaging platform for students to learn about Nagasaki Day. The programme served as a valuable educational experience, reminding everyone of the importance of peace and the consequences of conflict.
