The PG Department of English successfully conducted its special 'Meet with Alumni' Programme on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. The event was organized with the aim of connecting current students with accomplished alumni to inspire them and provide practical insights into career pathways beyond academics.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the college Principal, Prof Mohammed Koya MN, who emphasized the crucial role of alumni in motivating and mentoring students, calling the interaction a valuable bridge between education and the professional world.
The function was presided over by the Head of the Department, Dr Harikrishnan K, who spoke about the department's commitment to holistic development and fostering a strong relationship with its former students.
The keynote address and experience-sharing session were delivered by Mahroof VC, a distinguished alumnus of the department and a successful Entrepreneur. Mr. Mahroof VC shared his personal journey, detailing the challenges and successes he encountered after graduation, and provided practical advice on utilizing the skills gained in an English literature program within the business landscape. His address was highly engaging, focusing on the importance of communication, critical thinking, and adaptability in the modern professional environment.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round, allowing students to directly engage with the alumnus and seek guidance on career planning and skill development. The programme was well-received by the faculty and students, serving its purpose of providing valuable real world perspective.
