The PG Department of Chemistry, Assabah Arts and Science College, organized a programme titled “Unleashing the Power of the Mole: International Mole Day 2025” on 23rd October 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Conference Hall to commemorate International Mole Day.

The programme began with a welcome address by Prof. Sasidharan T A, Head of the Department of Chemistry, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the importance of Mole Day in promoting scientific curiosity and appreciation for chemistry among students.

The presidential address was delivered by the Principal, Prof. Mohammed Koya M N, who congratulated the Department for organizing the event and encouraged students to deepen their understanding of fundamental scientific concepts and their real-world applications.

The highlight of the event was a peer presentation by Asif K, Third semester MSc Chemistry student, who presented on topics related to the mole concept and its significance in chemical studies. The presentation was informative and engaging, enhancing the audience’s interest in the subject.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms.Raheena Latheef, Faculty of Chemistry, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support in making the event a success.

Outcome:

• Enhanced Conceptual Understanding:
  Students gained a deeper understanding of the mole concept, Avogadro’s number, and its applications in chemistry.
• Improved Presentation & Communication Skills:
  Through peer presentations, participants developed confidence in public speaking, scientific communication, and slide preparation.
• Encouragement of Peer Learning:
  The programme promoted collaborative learning, where students learned from their peers through interactive presentations and discussions.
