On 7^th August 2025, ED club and Commerce club of Assabah Arts and Science college, Valayamkulam, jointly organized a visit to the Khadi Model Center, Kadavallur in connection with National Handloom Day, observed under the theme “Weaving The Future”.

The program aimed to provide students with hands –on exposure to traditional handloom techniques and to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship in the taxtile sector. Participants had the opportunity to closely observe the weaving process , interact with artisans , and understand the cultural and economic importance of the handloom industry.

The event, monitored by IQAC,  successfully enhanced students awareness about the heritage of handloom weaving while motivating them to explore creative opportunities in this field.

OUTCOMES:-

1. Practical knowledge of traditional weaving methods
2. Encouragement for innovative thinking and entrepreneurial ventures.

Conclusion:

The National  Handloom Day Industry visit to the Khadi Model center , Kadavallur , was a valuable learning experience that blended cultural appreciation with practical knowledge. The program effectively met its objectives preserving heritage while inspiring future possibilities in the handloom sector.
