Introduction:

World Environment Day was observed on June 5, 2025, at Assabah arts and science college with great enthusiasm and commitment towards environmental conservation. As part of the celebration, a planting of saplings Programme was organized to promote awareness about environmental protection and to encourage sustainable practices.

Details of the event:

The event began at 10.30 AM with a short inaugural ceremony. The chief guest, Prof.Mohammed Koya M N (principal Assabah arts and science College, Valayamkulam), addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of trees in combating climate change, maintaining ecological balance, and improving air quality.

After the inaugural address, a group of students, staff, and volunteers participated in planting saplings in designated areas within the campus. Each participant was encouraged to adopt a sapling and take responsibility for its care and growth. Club members played an active role in organizing the event and spreading awareness about tree conservation and climate change.

Outcomes:

• To develop a stronger sense of environmental responsibility.

Conclusion:

The Environment Day observation and sapling plantation programme was a grand success.
