On August 21, 2025, the PG Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Department of Management, hosted an extension program titled “Empowering Firms Through GST Knowledge”. The event was held in a local market area, where a number of small and medium-sized shops operate. The main goal of this program was to help local shop owners understand and implement Goods and Services Tax (GST) in their businesses. By demystifying GST, the event aimed to reduce confusion and ensure businesses can comply with tax regulations while maximizing the benefits of the system. It also offered students from both departments an invaluable opportunity to interact with real business owners and apply their academic learning in a practical setting.
