An anti-drug awareness programme titled “Dhisha” was organized jointly by the Anti-Narcotic Cell and NSS Unit of Assabah Arts & Science College, Valayamkulam on 15th July 2025. The objective of the programme was to spread awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage them to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The programme was graced by Sri. B. Harikumar, Retired Excise Officer and District Coordinator of Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan, who served as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, he spoke passionately about the adverse effects of substance abuse on individuals and society. He also discussed various initiatives under the Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan and inspired students to become ambassadors of a drug-free community.The event was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Prof. M. N. Mohamed Koya, who, in his inaugural speech, highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in preventing drug abuse and fostering a safe academic environment. He commended the organizing teams for their dedicated efforts.The seminar was held in the Seminar Hall and saw active participation from students of various classes. The session was interactive, and students had the opportunity to raise questions and share their thoughts, making the event both informative and engaging.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the resource person, faculty members, volunteers, and all participants who made the programme a success.
