DESIGN WORKSHOP

The Department of Computer Applications in Association with IT Club, successfully organized a Canva Designing Workshop to foster creativity and enhance students' skills in modern digital design tools. The workshop was conducted on 19/06/2025, with active participation from Second year BCA and BSc. Computer Science students and faculty.

The workshop was officially inaugurated by the Principal, Prof. MN Mohammed Koya, who highlighted the importance of design skills in today’s digital age and appreciated the department for encouraging peer learning.

Welcome Speech delivered by Mohammed Mifzal PV, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, participants, and the resource person. The core session was handled by  Muhammed Shibin  AM ,a talented and creative student from the second year BCA batch. He demonstrated Canva’s powerful design tools, shared best practices in using AI-driven templates, and provided hands-on training to participants. As a token of appreciation, a memento was presented to the resource person by the Principal and Head of the Department of Computer Science, Ms. Safira.

The workshop was highly beneficial and met its intended objectives. The following outcomes were observed:

  • Creative Ideas in Design Tools and Software: Participants gained innovative ideas and approaches in using Canva for various academic and professional needs.
  • Enhanced Skill in AI-Assisted Designing: Students learned how to effectively use AI features within Canva to automate and improve their design process.
  • Practical Experience in Color Theory and Font Pairing: The hands-on session provided clarity on the principles of color harmony and typography.
  • Improved Design and Presentation Skills: Participants demonstrated greater confidence and competency in designing visually appealing content.

The Canva Designing Workshop provided a platform for students to explore their creative potential and understand the relevance of digital design in various fields. The initiative of involving a student as the resource person was widely appreciated, as it encouraged peer-to-peer learning and showcased the talent within the department.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Abhinav KN, who expressed gratitude to the management, faculty, the resource person, and all participants for their support and cooperation.
