DEBATE: SKILL VERSUS DEGREE

The Department of Computer Science in association with IT CLUB and IIC organised the debate on the topic "Skill versus Degree" was conducted on 15th July 2025 in the Conference Hall to mark World Youth Skills Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of skills in today’s evolving job market and to encourage critical thinking among students.

The participants of the Debate were BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science students, who actively engaged in the competition. Participants were divided into two teams: one advocating for skills as the key to success, while the other defended the importance of a formal degree. Each side presented strong arguments supported by real-life examples, facts, and statistics. The debate highlighted the growing emphasis on practical knowledge and the need to balance academic qualifications with hands-on abilities The Debate was conducted by Radhika k, Assistant Professor of department of computer science, making the event both educational and entertaining.

Students demonstrated impressive knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the competition. Prizes were awarded to the winners from the Computer Science Department.

Overall, the Debate competition was a great success, fostering awareness and a sense of responsibility towards the environment among the students.
